As part of its ongoing efforts to safeguard the dignity and well-being of crisis-affected communities, Youth in Action Organization (YAO), with support from the Danish Refugee Council (DRC), conducted a series of community awareness and information-sharing sessions on Safe Referral Pathway Mechanisms in Tagat Camp, North Kordofan.
Objectives & Core Purpose
This initiative aims to empower vulnerable groups\u2014particularly women and children\u2014by equipping them with vital knowledge on how to safely access essential protection, medical, and psychosocial services while maintaining confidentiality and dignity.
Key focus areas of the sessions included:
Promoting Protection Rights: Informing community members about available services and their fundamental rights to receive support safely.
Clarifying Safe Referral Pathways: Explaining direct and reliable channels to connect with specialized service providers.
Enhancing Community Engagement: Building effective communication bridges between displaced communities and humanitarian responders to ensure timely assistance during emergencies.
Strong Community Participation
The sessions witnessed active participation from women and families residing in the camp, who expressed the importance of understanding these safety networks and knowing how to access critical support services securely within their community.
