Because true recovery begins with empowering the entire family, our field efforts extended to reach the most vulnerable and remote areas, bringing hope and psychosocial support to those who need it.
As part of our integrated protection and humanitarian response programs, Youth in Action (YAO), with generous support and funding from UNICEF and the US government, implemented a dual psychosocial support activity in the Al-Liri area of Far South Kordofan.
🎯 What did this field intervention include?
• For children (energy release and peacebuilding): Psychosocial and sports support equipment and supplies were distributed, including balls and colorful sports jerseys. Group movement activities were conducted to help children cope with stress and integrate into a safe and joyful interactive environment.
• For women (safe spaces for sharing and recovery): A psychosocial support session was organized specifically for women and mothers within the community. This session included spaces for dialogue and participation aimed at alleviating psychological stress, exchanging support, and enhancing their resilience in the face of surrounding challenges.
The integration of child support with mother empowerment is the cornerstone of building a resilient and healthy community. Many thanks to our partners at UNICEF and the US government, and to our field teams who traveled far and wide to bring peace of mind to the people of Liri.
